Art A New History
So, I got my book.
The other day I went to the library (after researching art history books that they had and deciding I would rather just go and look on the shelves) and went to the art and culture section. I was wandering down the aisle with my sister and came across a book I had seen during my brief research session: Art A New History.
The benefit: it is perfect. I mean in the table of contents there's a list of different time periods that are in it. There's art and history and pretty much exactly what I need.
The problem: It's about the heaviest book I've ever had the pleasure of carrying around with me in school. I mean besides the crazy thick text books we carry (Not that I've had to carry those this year. That's one of the benefits of the IPad: I can just use the online book).
Anyways, I'm pretty excited about this. It seems interesting (even though my arms are dying because I'm carrying it with me everywhere. I'm contemplating buying it online... that's another place the IPad could come in handy. Not sure.
I think I'm rambling (or at least my brain is).
Bye

Book (Very short blog)
I'm not sure how often I should blog but today I'm trying to find a book to use.
I looked on the website of the library and found quite a few. I think I'll just go tonight and find one.
I feel bad for not getting one but I truthfully didn't have the time. My mom works and most of the time by the time she's home the library is closed. I know I'll be able to make it there tonight so I'm set to go.
That's about it for today. I'll be reading by tomorrow.

Art History
So, what do I know about the history of art?
Well, I've been interested in art since I was little. Being an artist is the first thing I can remember ever wanting to be. Ever since I started school art class has been a place I loved to go. If I could take another elective I would jump at the chance to join an art class or design, something like that.
The thing about learning art history is that no one really teaches it to you in grade school or junior high. You do get little bits of info- I know who Picasso is and I can tell you what catagory certain pieces are in- but still you never get the whole thing. I want to know what art was around during different time periods to see how the events of that age effected the subjects and style. Nothing like that has ever come up for me.
I would also like to try my hand at some of the styles, being someone who loves art like I do.
Back on topic, I don't really know much about art history in general.
I would like to look into the types of art during controversial times and from other countries. I'm curious what an event can do to the art people are creating.
I would also like to learn about different designs for planes and jets and things like that in the past to help with the group's mission for the year.
That's it for today!

The first ever awesome blog post of mine.
So here we are.
I don't exactly know how to write a blog. I mean, I've tried before. I had a blog on deviantart (where I post all of my doodles and art attempts) but I kept forgetting to update, mostly because no one was reading and it didn't seem like it was worth my time to write something no one was going to read. But now I'm done with 3 sentences so I think it's going well. I've always found it easier to talk about my life to random people on the internet. Face to face interaction isn't for me. Which is probably why I got an I instead of an E on the typology test we took. Introverted instead of extroverted. It's not that I don't like people, I'm just a strong believer in only talking when you have something interesting or valuable to add to a conversation. I typically don't. I spend my days watching anime and reading. My life isn't exactly interesting. It's not un-interesting but it's not something that most people would care about reading. I'd rather draw a picture than go out with friends.
That's kind of how I work. I'm barely ever totally disagree with anything.
I feel like I'm talking too much.
On the topic of our group: Our leader is abusing his power. Not really but Bendita told me to write this. We're actually working well together, even though we found it kind of difficult to come up with a mission statement.
We're going to build a jetpack. I don't exactly know the specifics or how we could even do it but apparantly that's our goal for the year. I'm really happy to be doing the marketing and things like it. I'm also planning on looking into the history of the airplane and how things like that are designed.
